Would it be an idea to have this project automatically publish a package to PPA for Ubuntu/Debian and to Homebrew for MacOS? It would make the installation of the library a lot easier and I think it might be possible to automate the whole process.

Ideally, Linux distributions themselves should provide pdfium as an individual package so it can be shared among dependents, instead of bundling it with any dependent package, e.g. chromium, libreoffice, qt, libvips, ...

Yes I agree, any idea why they didn't do that?
Besides that they should do it, distribution packages are often very outdated so an up to date package would always be welcome even if it was also provided by the distributions.

I'm all in favor of publishing PPA/Homebrew, but I don't know how to do that.
Does any of you have some experience with the matter?

I don't have any experience with publishing to PPA, but I do have some with Homebrew, I'll look into it somewhere this/next week. Should be fairly simple since it's just a binary distribution and afaik Homebrew can just pull from Github releases.
