In particular, the CSS I'm using works very well for all the other pages, but leads to a very large archive page. I'd like to change that mostly so that the output looks a little better. Once again, thanks for such an awesome plugin!

Nothing comes immediately to mind. Perhaps you can add some #+begin_export html blocks in a particular page?

That'd be good for all the org pages, but any way to manipulate archive that way?

As I said, no built-in way. But you can advice the publishing function, and change its behavior if the file name matches the archive page.

Of course, an even cooler solution would be a publishing hook that runs for every page, and can manipulate things in a custom way. That would be a great pull request, if you'd be interested in doing that.

I would love to, but I am an absolute beginner in elisp, so I'd keep asking a lot of questions. If you'd be able to guide, I'd be happy to try it out.

I'm afraid you'll have to ask somewhere else. This is not a support forum for elisp in general. The emacs reddit may be a good place to start.
