Hey everyone!
We’re excited to share a major update on Devkit, which has made significant strides over the summer. While many of you know Devkit as an open-source initiative, we're here to reveal a much bigger vision—and offer you the chance to be part of it before the official launch!
What’s the plan for Devkit?
Devkit is much more than an open-source project. It’s the full solution that powers Archetype themes—and soon, it can power your projects too. Our mission with Devkit is simple but meaningful:
This statement gets to the heart of what we do. We’re here to help professionals—whether designers or developers—build incredible storefronts on Shopify using Liquid, the foundation of Shopify themes. Devkit isn’t just a set of tools—it’s about empowering you to create the best Shopify storefronts possible, combining both the creative and technical sides of your work.
Our experience at Archetype is what makes Devkit unique. Everything we’ve learned—from refactoring code and developing components to refining Figma files and improving documentation—has been used to build some of the most successful Shopify themes. By bringing this expertise to Devkit, we’re offering more than just tools; we’re sharing the foresight and hands-on experience that has made us a leader in the Shopify ecosystem.
As we invite early members, we’ll take a consultative, white-glove approach—working closely with you to address your pain points and apply our knowledge directly to your business. Over time, your feedback will help refine Devkit into an even more powerful, self-serve solution for theme professionals.
What do you get with a Devkit Membership?
With a Devkit membership, you’ll gain access to:
We’ve also added a bunch of new posts in the discussion board to answer FAQs, so feel free to explore and ask any additional questions in the Devkit AMA board.
Interested in Early Access?
We’re offering early access to a select group before our grand launch, and we’d love to start with those who can benefit most from Devkit. If this sounds like something that could level up your workflow, confirm your interest in early access!
