An official Mealie integration is coming

With the 2024.7 release of Home Assistant there will be an official Mealie integration.
This was developed independently and for the July release provides meal plan calendars.

I am now collaborating with the core dev on getting feature parity and future HA releases will improve this integration with features such as shopping list sync. It will not be a direct copy of this custom integration so when you want to switch you will have to follow the instructions below and adapt any automations/dashboards you may have.

As the integrations have exactly the same domain name, if you have this custom integration installed it will override the core integration (you cannot have both). If you depend on lists stick with this custom integration for now, if you are only interested in meal plans then I'd suggest moving to the core integration.

How do you remove the custom integration and move to core?

• Within Settings, Devices & Services, Integrations, open Mealie.
• Use the 3 dots to choose Delete
• Then within HACS find Mealie, and choose Delete to remove the custom integration.
• Restart HA
• Go to Settings, Devices & Services, Integrations and click Add Integration
• Search for Mealie and follow the integration steps.

If you have issues with the official Mealie integration please log them in the usual way within HA Core (not here).

Once the official integration gets shopping list support I will be discontinuing all support on this integration and archiving it, I'll post another announcement when that happens.

Thanks for the enthusiasm shown to my integration, I'm happy that we are getting an official one that will benefit from more support and give more people access to Mealie who don't want to install HACS custom components.
