Safari is set to reopen last session on its start. If you quit Safari having a browser window minimized, then after next start this window won't display safari stand sidebar even is is set to "Show Sidebar Default" in the settings. Anyway, it can be displayed by Stand->Sidebar option in the menu.

Severity: Minor
Safari Stand Version: 10.1.2

Replication Steps

  1. In Mac's System Preferences->General settings check that "Close windows when quitting an app" is disabled.
  2. Set "Show Sidebar Default" in Safari Stand Sidebar's preferences.
  3. Open two browser windows, minimize the 2nd one.
  4. Quit Safari
  5. Start Safari again and re-open the minimized window
Expected Result: Sidebar should be visible, however is not.
