I tried converting a movie encoded in Hap Alpha to HapQ and the result looked badly skewed. Converting the original prores4444 movie to hapQ directly was fine. The test movie is somewhat proprietary so please drop me a PM if you'd like to give it a try.

to the best of my knowledge, github doesn't have a PM feature, but we'll gladly take a look at your media- please email a URL to the files you'd like us to examine to support [at] vidvox.net
hap is a lossy codec: if you're transcoding from one hap codec to another then i would expect there to be some degree of artifacting/some loss in image quality.
