@n1tin Yes.
The issue definition is not super clear though, so you'll have to figure out the best solution for this problem yourself.
From the UX standpoint I'd prefer the "Autoupdate extensions" checkbox in the settings, which is ticked on by default. Users may not want to get automatic updates due to security concerns.

I din't get this, I thought this issue was updating the dependencies in package.json and making sure the UI and test cases are not broken.

You are right.
I confused this task with another one about updating extensions.
