Why should a space want to become a member of UKHSF?

As a Hack Space Co-ordinator
I want to understand the benefits of becoming a member of the foundation
So that I can make use of the benefits and pass them on to my own members as appropriate

A subdomain of hackspace.org.uk (CNAME or nameserver delegation), if they want it.

For the supplier discounts AdaFruit and a few other Maker suppliers do discounts if you register with them, but each space can do it individually.

@idnorton / @JasperWallace - is there anything else that needs to be added to that document, can the list of what UKHSF currently offers vs. what we want to offer be updated?

If we don't have that information, who do we need to speak to about adding it?

Following comments from Telegram chat, is there a way we can offer Google Workspace or similar to member spaces for emails, doc sharing, etc?

Is this something that should be/is already in the HOM?

I'd say not. HOM should be about how to set up and run a hackspace, so this is information that should be on the foundations website.

Tasks/questions from EMF2024:

1. We don't actually know why people want to be a member of this, perhaps we should find out via a survey?
2. Update the list of suppliers offering discounts (if any are still in place!)
3. Some form of support for setting up a hackspace website (cloud platform templates to launch something? Something more basic?)
4. The UKHSF Ltd. company is solvent and has money - what can/can't we spend that on? Where is it best spent?
