Hello there everyone! 👋
TaTo30 here! I just felt the necesity to explain some couple of things about this project the current status, this brings some bla bla bla so be cautious.
First some context and history, this project born as a solution for a problem that my dev team faced when Vue changed the philosophy of Vue and introduced the Composition API, at that moment we were using the most popular pdf component for vue 2 vue-pdf from FranckFreiburger but that project just stopped to receive updates and we need to migrate all ours project from Vue 2 to Vue 3 as soon as was possible, anyone who faced the challenge to migrate from Vue 2 to 3 knows the pain it was because almost all the components on Vue 2 were broken on Vue 3 and one of them were the previous vue-pdf, after some deep thinking (I just did not have nothing better to do) I started to develop a component to fix the Vue version issue, use the composition thing and add some specific features for my company's applications and then I thought that could be a nice idea to publish the work as an open-source project and here we are. 😃
One year has passed since I published the first stable version and since then I have received several feature requests, bug reports and suggestions, being honest I have never thought that my work would become a thing on the open-source space even if it is a small component. I want to take this space to thanks all those devs who contributed at this project through those well appreciated PRs, specially @leo91000 who migrate the code from javascript to typescript in the early versions.
The real thing comes now, lately I have not had enough time to dedicate on this project, I know there are performance issues, I know there are compatibility issues and I know there are feature requests but all of them requires time to be reviewed, developed and tested, time that I just do not have nowadays. For that reason I am now looking for developers who could helps to maintain this project updated and available as an open-source component. If there are someone interested, please let me know at this mail: [email protected]
That's all, best regards to everyone who read this text. 🤖
