Please help me troubleshoot with Beautified Chat Client (i need this to work, out of spite)

Hello, I'm having trouble getting this mod to work on a server I'm in. first of all I am SO sorry to reach out to you with what is probs a very silly issue. Heres what I've done so far-

I downloaded the mod, made changes to the config using the in-game config editor, shown below.
Originally I had JUST changed the "chat message colour" option, I have since changed the Other Chat Symbols and Chat Message Format configs.

This did not work to change the color of my messages in the server.

I tried editing the config from Text Editor, which is where I removed the timestamp option. Shows below

Still, my text stays boring white.

I know that Collective is a required mod. I already had Collective for the full brightness mod, so I didn't need to download it. The version of Collective I have is 7.87. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but when I disable Collective in Curseforge, it disables Full Bright and Beautified chat.

The only thing I can imagine is that I might have the wrong version of Collective, but I don't see where the mod specifies what version of Collective is needed.

When I click on the link for the Collective mod, it takes me to the mod's homepage where all versions are available.

I'm not very techy and I've tried everything I know how to try. The main reason I want this mod to work is because there's a user on the server I play on who says they have a mod that makes their chat color green automatically (no keybindings/macros/copypaste) but they refuse to tell anyone what the mod is.

I am here out of spite.

Its not a rank reward to have automatic chat colors, and I really don't think its anything server side. The server won't tell the public what plugins are used so I'm kinda at a loss there. I'll attach a photo of my current mods. Please tell me if anything here could be conflicting!

Id like to note that I DID originally install the Server plugin. This didn't work either, so I tried the client one. I removed the config and file from my Mods folder.
