The Motivation

Add animation selection for "minimize window" besides "open window" and "close window".

The Solution

Add another entry in the general options part of the settings dialog to choose which animation is to be used, should you minimize a window.

Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion. I think that all the effects we currently have, are not very suitable as a minimize animation due to their destructive appearance. IMHO, such an animation should convey that the window is not gone but continues to exist somewhere else.

Therefore, I think that such a feature would require a second set of effects to choose from.
As this seems to be a lot of work (and minimization is something which is not really part of the GNOME philosophy) I will not work on this anytime soon. However, I'll keep this issue open as it is a valid feature request and maybe someone else wants to work on this!

Btw, we also have the Compiz alike magic lamp effect extension, if you want to tweak the minimization effect 😉

Sorry to necro this but for KDE these would be great as the minimise/maximise animations for KDE 6 are very limited. I've been using the glitch effect mostly so having a minimise animation for that would be the best.
