Enable netConnections in NAbox

At the time of writing this discussion, netConnections template is only available in nightly builds.

Pre-Requisite: Make sure , you have a build installed in NAbox which has netConnections template.

This template is only available via Rest Collector, Below steps are required to collect this data.

1. SSH to NAbox machine via root as mentioned here.
2. Go to directory /opt/harvest2-conf/conf/rest and create a file custom.yaml if not exists.
3. Add below content in this file

  NetConnections:              netConnections.yaml

4: Enable Rest collector in harvest configuration in /opt/harvest2-conf/harvest.yml. Example below

Defaults:
  collectors:
    - Zapi
    - ZapiPerf
    - Rest
  exporters:
    - nabox-prometheus
Exporters:
  nabox-prometheus:
    addr: 0.0.0.0
    exporter: Prometheus
    master: true
Pollers:
  xxxxxxx:
    addr: xxxxx
    autostart: '1'
    datacenter: dc-1
    password: xxxxxx
    prometheus_port: 12990
    use_insecure_tls: true
    username: xxxx

5: Restart NAbox through command dc down
6: Wait for few minutes and you should see below metrics in prometheus. (https://nabox/prometheus)

Thank you for throwing this together so quickly for me.
Where should I put the NetConnections.yaml file?
I currently have it in /opt/harvest2-conf/conf/rest/9.13.0
I'm getting a status code 401 for the Rest polller on my clusters
nabox-harvest2 | 3:59PM WRN ./poller.go:649 > init collector-object (Rest:NetConnections): server returned status code 401 Poller=cluster_name

hi @TyfoidKId a 401 is HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized. Can you double check that your ONTAP user has REST permissions outlined here?

The username in your harvest.yml for this cluster, does not have the required ONTAP permissions to talk REST. Those permissions are different than the ZAPI (ontapi) permissions you already have setup for that user.

OK so the cli command comes back with
natest01::security login> security login modify -user-or-group-name netapp-harvest2 -role harvest2-role -application http -authentication-method password

Error: There are no entries matching your query

The GUI attempt tells me
The role already exists in the legacy role table.

I added HTTP to netapp-harvest2 user and the 401 error have stopped but I'm still not seeing anything new in prometheus

@TyfoidKId can you share the poller logs - by running dc logs nabox-harvest2 > nabox-harvest2.log feel free to email them if they're too large to paste here.
