The expected behavior is that Backspace will remove the selected on-curve point, but not the outline segment it is on.

I made a video showing the problem and how this works in both Glyphs and Runebender:

Oh, okay! I understand what you mean. Actually what I'm doing is more complicated as I convert the path into an open path, so what you'd like to be default is simpler. I don't mind changing my default. Thanks for the report!
