For an unknown reason, the lensing data is wrong at high redshift bins. In our case, the tomographic bins 4 and 5 exhibit a strong excess of lensing signal w.r.t theory, whereas bins 1-2-3 are safe. The smoking gun is the fact that one particle snapshot was lost, so that the mass shells had to compensate for this. If I had this wrong that could cause the problem. More on this later on.
Good news is that most of the IA science is at lower redshift, so that should be safe to use.
