Issue Roundup
-
... (feel free to add agenda items)
- Paged Content Sprint - Most popular feature from the sprint by far. Top priority. September 3 - 13 to fit between back-to-school and the Fedora sprint. Should be more config than programming.
- Drupal GovCon Debrief - IBM is including Islandora in the hosted Drupal they provide for the US government. Dept of Interior is working on adopting, which may lead to a lot more. Major Drupal vendors seem pretty interested too. Another vendor had an Islandora demo at the con, independent of ours. Demoed to 15 or so bureaus after the conference.
- Multi-tenancy meeting poll - poll to find the best time for a big meeting to chat about multi-tenancy/multi-sites
- List of Pilots/Early Adopters - created because we've been asked quite a few times and it seemed sensible to keep an official list.
- Islandora Cookbook - a list of vanilla Drupal modules that do things that folks may want Islandora 8 to do.
- Revisions - @elizoller has done a lot of work to line up revisions in Drupal with Fedora. Danny is testing. This could be a good start for some additional Alpaca documentation. Good prep for fcrepo6, where versioning is going to be quite important.
- FITS - Pretty awesome contribution from the UPEI RDM project. CrayFITS! Takes the outputs of many tools and puts it together. Detects if a new field hasn't existed yet, and if it doesn't applies it to the media type, breaks out into fields, and makes technical metadata searchable by Solr! This can 'fit' right into Islandora 8 and Team RobLib is going to work on officially contributing it.
- Issue Roundup
- https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1229 - claw-playbook has some issues when run behind proxies. Danny and Nat are working together on this. Some pilots are going to be starting to work with splitting the stack out onto different machines. Fedora and Solr, for instance. Maybe microservices. UNLV is also going to try throwing the playbook at an existing Drupal site to see how well it works to overlay Islandora.
- https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1230 - make matomo optional. Some places already have it.
- https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1231 - Using service name instead of localhost may help with scalability
Additional: abirkland has done some experiments with breaking Islandora 8 and Fedora out into containers with Docker, just for his own purposes. Not seeking to be a deployment solution, but it's an interesting application of the tools.
