From wikipedia :

Le vacuostat est un détecteur de dépression qui permet de détecter la dépression générée par un système (par exemple : un système venturi) et d'induire une valeur de force de maintien sur une pièce connexe. Il délivre un signal électronique ou mécanique indiquant la présence du vide.

We need to know if there is actually vacuum in our pipes when we are pumping in order to know if we successfully pumped something.
We could use the current consumption from the pump but a vacuostat is way simpler.

We need to find a vacuostat that matches the following specification :

  • 12v or 5v power supply
  • 5v or 3.3v output
  • We can choose the threshold for the vacuum detection using a mechanical system (a screw, etc.)
