Version SL Prepatch (for 9.0.1)
Date: 10/16/20

Blizzard's default nameplates & colored bars are also being displayed, behind TidyPlates' nameplates.
It doesn't matter which theme is chosen.

Or is there some display option that needs to be de-selected?

Edit: I'm able to make the duplicate name disappear for friendly players & their pets, using the game's visibility controls. But not for friendly NPCs or any of the bars.

I am getting the same issue on my warrior. To add more feedback, the issue is mainly persisting when I charge into combat. If I run up the a mob, I only see Tidy Plates, when I charge in, I see Tidy Plates AND Default Blizzard nameplates.

@Cubilix @Ric0chet-GitHub Can you give me a screenshot of what that looks like for you? I can recreate something like that, but only if I toggle the "Larger Nameplates" option in the game menu and it immediately disappears as soon as I hover over them or even just close the menu.
But there have been some others with a similar issue. For one of them it worked properly when they disabled the addon QuestPlates.
Does it happen on all units, ie all combinations of friendly/hostile players/npcs?
I'm looking at things and trying to fix everything, but with this issue I can't even really recreate it properly yet, so any additional info you can give me on your setup would help a lot!

Here is a screenshot of how it looks with small name plates. I can also recreate this if I heroic leap to the enemy. It's almost as if I get to the enemy QUICKLY then the Blizz nameplates pop up - but when I walk up it doesn't happen.

The issue was not happening on my hunter.

Further follow up: when I heroic leap to an enemy, the double nameplates appear for about a second before the blizzard nameplate disappears and the tidy plates remains

Thanks for the description, I can recreate it now. I'll see what I can do to fix it.

I can make the Friendly Player (blue) names go away, but not the Friendly NPC (green) names.
I cannot find a way to turn off the colored bars.

Thanks for taking a look & updating this addon. It's essential!

You were correct about the QuestPlates. I disabled them & all looks good!

I don't have QuestPlates installed :( I wonder if I should try going through mine one by one

Don't need to. I can recreate it on my machine like that. I got a theory on what's causing it and am working on a fix. Hope it'll be ready tomorrow.

OMG. I was the first one to report such an issue and was considering nuking my whole WOW install as I thought I broke something. glad to gear others are also noticing the same thing This problem also happens with Neatplates. I tested both Tidyplates and Neatplates by themselves with no other addon enabled and this issue exists with both. Very happy that you are looking into it.

Also I just installed the latest prepatch version and it still displays as 6.19.5 in the settings. Is that right?

I pushed a new release with a fix to Curseforge. This doesn't fix the issue with QuestPlates, but I'm fairly certain that that's an issue on their end, not with TidyPlates.

It still had the version as 6.19.5 since I wanted to release a usable version asap so I hadn't set up a build process and just left everything as is. It should be at 6.19.6 now.

I also moved the issues page to my fork so we can manage things better there. If you notice any more bugs, I'd be happy to go over them there.

This issue sadly is back after the latest Tidyplates update 6.20.0. I noticed it today on my warriors
