Awala (formerly <em>Relaynet</em>) is a computer network incubated by
<a href="https://relaycorp.tech">Relaycorp</a>, and funded by the
<a href="https://opentech.fund">Open Technology Fund</a> and the
<a href="https://www.iri.org">International Republican Institute</a>.
It was designed and prototyped at the University of Oxford, and it won the first place at the
<a href="https://builders.mozilla.community/old/alumni.html#relaynet">Mozilla Builders Open Lab</a>.
