Explore the possibility for AfricArXiv to be a “dynamically-generated static site” for cost-effectiveness

  • the server makes plain-old HTML pages that it uploads to a static website bucket to host.
  • just a few truly dynamic pages (e.g. submission form and user registration) that require running additional assets.
  • if no one’s submitting a paper or making a new user account, we’re not paying for an extra server to run.
  • only upon manuscript acceptance, AfricArXiv creates an HTML page for it, uploads it to the website-hosting bucket
